Private beta

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 July 2026

How SlopeShare handles your data during the private beta. SlopeShare only helps coordinate rides between members (it is not the transport provider) and operates in Tirol, Austria. We aim to follow EU/Austrian data-protection (GDPR) principles; full compliance is still being finalised for launch.

The English version is the legally authoritative version during the private beta.

What we collect

  • Account data: your name, email address, a securely hashed password (we never store your plain password), and your verification status. If you sign in with Google, we store a Google account identifier instead of a password.
  • Profile: an optional profile photo (stored in Vercel Blob — only the image URL is kept in our database), an optional bio, and an optional phone number if you choose to add one.
  • Ride & location data: your ride requests and rides, chosen pickup points and destination resorts, ratings, reviews, reports and blocks. During an active ride, your live location can be shared with your matched ride partner to help you find each other; it is the current position only and is cleared when the ride ends (no location history is kept).
  • Payment data: card payments are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details. We keep a purchase record (amount, credits, status) and Stripe reference identifiers.
  • Driver details: if you apply to drive, your legal name, optional date of birth, licence country, and vehicle details (make/model/colour and the last three plate characters).

Service providers we use

We share the minimum data needed with these processors to run the service:

  • Vercel — app hosting and profile-image storage (Vercel Blob).
  • Neon — the PostgreSQL database.
  • Resend — sending verification and account emails.
  • Stripe — processing credit payments.
  • Upstash — rate limiting to prevent abuse (when configured).

We do not sell your personal data. Formal data-processing agreements with each provider are part of pre-launch review. Planned

Who your info is shared with

When you match for a ride, your ride partner sees your name, photo, rating, and (for drivers) vehicle details — enough to find each other safely. Moderators may review reports and safety events. That's it.

Your rights & contact

  • Access & correction: view and edit your profile in the app.
  • Deletion: delete your account from Profile → Delete account. This removes your login and personal details and anonymises your account; past rides and safety reports are kept but anonymised so other people's records stay intact.
  • Questions or requests: email support@slopeshareapp.com.
