Safety
Last updated: 5 July 2026
SlopeShare connects members for shared rides to the slopes. It coordinates rides but is not the transport provider, so safety on every trip is a shared responsibility. Please read this.
The English version is the legally authoritative version during the private beta.
In an emergency, call 112
112 is the European emergency number. Austria: police 133, ambulance 144, alpine rescue 140. The in-app Safety button is not a replacement for the emergency services.
Check before you get in / pick up
- Do not get in the car if the details don't match what the app shows — walk away and report it.
- Check the profile: photo, rating, completed rides, and the verification badge.
- Confirm the person's name in person before getting in.
- Meet only at the marked, public pickup point shown in the app.
- Tell a friend where you're going and with whom.
- Trust your gut — you can always cancel before pickup.
How the app helps you verify your ride
- Verification badge: members show an “Email verified” / “ID verified” badge, and drivers are manually reviewed and approved before they can offer rides. This is a manual check, not a legal licence validation.
- Vehicle match: the app shows the driver's car make, model and colour — check they match the car in front of you.
- Plate last digits: the app shows the last 3 characters of the number plate so you can confirm the right car.
- Live location during a ride: you and your matched partner can share your live position to find each other; it is cleared when the ride ends.
- A ride PIN / handshake code to confirm the right car and person at pickup. Planned
- Sharing your live trip with an outside emergency contact. Planned
Report & block
You can report or block the other person from any ride screen, the in-ride Safety button, or the rating card after a ride. Reports go to moderators. Blocking means you'll never be matched with that person again — they are not notified.
Community rules
- Drivers: valid licence, insured car, winter equipment, drive sober.
- Riders: be on time, secure your gear, respect the car.
- No harassment or discrimination of any kind.
- Rate honestly after every ride — it protects the next person.
